Gene Haas Brings America Back

Founded by NASCAR team owner Gene Haas, the American team arrived in 2016 with Ferrari power and scored points on its very first weekend.

Haas F1 Team was established in 2014 by Gene Haas, owner of a NASCAR Cup Series team, and was the first American constructor to compete in Formula One since the unrelated Haas Lola of the 1980s. It is headquartered in Kannapolis, North Carolina, with a European base in Banbury bought from the collapsed Marussia team and a design office in Maranello. Its cars are built by Dallara with Ferrari power units.

Romain Grosjean finished sixth in the team's first race, the 2016 Australian Grand Prix, and later gave it a best result of fourth in Austria in 2018, a finish Oliver Bearman matched in Mexico City in 2025. Kevin Magnussen, its most frequent starter, took its only pole at the 2022 São Paulo Grand Prix. Guenther Steiner led the team until 2024, when Ayao Komatsu replaced him. Haas has started 229 Grands Prix, and the 2026 championship is still being decided.
