Esteban Gutiérrez raced in Formula One for Sauber in 2013 and 2014 and for Haas in 2016, with a best finish of seventh.

Born in Monterrey, Esteban Gutiérrez won the Formula BMW Europe title in 2008 and the first GP3 Series championship in 2010, then finished in the top three in GP2 in 2012. Sauber gave him his Formula One debut at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix.

In his rookie year he set the fastest lap at the Spanish Grand Prix and scored his only points with seventh place in Japan. A second season with Sauber followed in 2014, then a year as Ferrari's test and reserve driver. He returned with the new Haas team in 2016, finishing his Formula One career at that year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with 59 starts. He later raced in Formula E and IndyCar.
