Karting Champion in the Red Bull Era

Vitantonio Liuzzi raced in Formula One from 2005 to 2011 for Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Force India and HRT.

Born in Locorotondo, Vitantonio Liuzzi won the karting World Championship in 2001 and the International Formula 3000 title with Arden in 2004, which earned him a debut with Red Bull at the 2005 San Marino Grand Prix. He scored a point with eighth place in that first race.

He drove for Toro Rosso in 2006 and 2007, finishing sixth at the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix. After a year without a race seat he returned with Force India late in 2009 and raced for the team through 2010, when he matched his best result with sixth in Korea. A season with HRT in 2011 closed his career at the Brazilian Grand Prix, after 80 starts. He later raced in Formula E, Super Formula and endurance racing.
