Daniel Ricciardo rose through the Red Bull junior ranks, won seven races for Red Bull and one for McLaren, and raced in Formula 1 until 2024.

Daniel Ricciardo was born in Perth, Australia, on July 1, 1989. He started karting at nine and moved to Formula Ford in 2005. He won the 2008 Formula Renault 2.0 WEC title, the 2009 British Formula 3 championship with Carlin, and finished second by two points in Formula Renault 3.5 in his first season there.

As part of the Red Bull Junior Team he made his Formula 1 debut with HRT at the 2011 British Grand Prix, then drove full time for Toro Rosso in 2012 and 2013. Red Bull promoted him for 2014 to replace Mark Webber alongside Sebastian Vettel, and he responded with his first win at the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix, followed by victories in Hungary and Belgium and third place in the championship.

In 2016 he took his first pole position at Monaco, won the Malaysian Grand Prix and again finished third. He won in Azerbaijan in 2017 and won the Chinese and Monaco Grands Prix in 2018. He then moved to Renault for 2019 and 2020, scoring podiums in the second season, and joined McLaren in 2021, where his only podium for the team was a win at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix.

After leaving McLaren at the end of 2022 he became a Red Bull reserve driver, returned to racing with AlphaTauri in 2023 and stayed with the team as RB into 2024, making his last start at the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2022 and later became a global ambassador for Ford Racing.
