From DTM to Minardi and Spyker

Christijan Albers raced in Formula One from 2005 to 2007 for Minardi, MF1 and Spyker, with a best finish of fifth.

Born in Eindhoven, Christijan Albers won Dutch and Belgian Formula Ford titles in 1997 and later made his name in the DTM. Minardi gave him his Formula One debut at the 2005 Australian Grand Prix, and that year he finished fifth at the United States Grand Prix, a race contested by only six cars.

He stayed with the team as it became MF1 and then Spyker, and his Formula One career ended after the 2007 British Grand Prix, his 46th start, when Spyker dropped him. He returned to the DTM with Audi in 2008 and briefly served as team principal of Caterham in 2014.
