Trojan's Season With Ron Tauranac

A British maker of vans, bubble cars and customer racing cars, Trojan teamed with Ron Tauranac for one Formula One season in 1974.

Trojan began as a car and van maker in South London and later built the Heinkel bubble car under license, then Elva sports cars and customer McLaren racing cars. Its Formula 5000 car helped Jody Scheckter win an American championship. In 1974 it moved into Formula One in partnership with the Australian designer Ron Tauranac, using a Ford engine.

Tim Schenken drove the car throughout the season. The team entered 8 Grands Prix and started 6, and Schenken's best finishes were two tenth places, in Belgium and Austria. Its final entry was the 1974 Italian Grand Prix, after which Trojan did not return.
