The 1990 season

Same Rivals, Different Garages

Alain Prost carried his feud with Ayrton Senna to Ferrari, and for a second straight year their championship ended in a collision in Japan.

The feud survived the move, as feuds tend to. Alain Prost left McLaren for Ferrari, Gerhard Berger traveled the opposite way to join Ayrton Senna, and the red cars proved strong enough to make 1990 a genuine fight. Ferrari and McLaren shared the sixteen races evenly, six wins apiece, and the title came down to two men who had been teammates a year earlier.
