Tim Parnell, son of the driver and team manager Reg Parnell, started his World Championship career in July 1959 and made the grid twice in four attempts. His only finish was tenth at Monza in 1961.

After his father died in 1964 he took charge of Reg Parnell Racing, at times entering cars for Pedro Rodríguez and Mike Spence and building close ties with BRM. From 1970 to 1974 he managed the BRM Formula One team itself. He died on the 5th of April 2017, aged 84.
