Italian steel industrialist from Brescia who founded BMS Scuderia Italia and ran it in Formula One from 1988 to 1993

Born in Brescia in 1952 into a family of steelmakers, Giuseppe Lucchini studied politics and economics at the University of Pavia. He is the chairman of the family firm Lucchini RS.

In 1983 he founded a racing team called Brixia Motor Sport, which made a brief appearance in the World Touring Car Championship. When it entered Formula One in 1988 it took the name BMS Scuderia Italia, and it stayed until 1993 before returning to touring and sports car racing. He also owns one of the 39 Ferrari 250 GTOs ever built, which may be the most enviable garage in Brescia.
