Davide Brivio grew up near Monza, raced motocross, and started out commentating at his local track and writing for a motorcycle magazine. He became a team manager in World Superbike in 1992 and moved up to run Yamaha's MotoGP team, where he helped persuade Valentino Rossi to switch from Honda in 2004. Five riders' titles followed.

At Suzuki he built a young team that took Joan Mir to the 2020 MotoGP crown, the factory's first since 2000. Alpine then hired him as racing director of its Formula One team in January 2021, and early in 2022 he moved to its young driver program. Back on two wheels with Trackhouse, he later became the first team principal to win MotoGP races with three different manufacturers. Some people collect stamps.
