Three Poles in Turbo Cars

Teo Fabi raced in Formula One from 1982 to 1987, taking three pole positions and two third places with Brabham and Benetton.

Born in Milan, Teo Fabi was European karting champion in 1975 and joined Toleman for his Formula One debut at the 1982 South African Grand Prix. He also raced in America, taking pole position as a rookie at the 1983 Indianapolis 500.

With Brabham in 1984 he finished third at the Detroit Grand Prix after starting twenty third. Back at Toleman in 1985 he took pole at the German Grand Prix, and with Benetton he added poles in Austria and Italy in 1986. A second podium followed with third in Austria in 1987, and his Formula One career ended at that year's Australian Grand Prix, after 64 starts. He later won the 1991 World Sportscar Championship with Jaguar.
