Philippe Alliot raced in Formula One between 1984 and 1994 for RAM, Ligier, Lola, Larrousse and McLaren, with a best finish of fifth.

Born in Voves, Philippe Alliot left political science studies for a racing school, won in Formule Renault and moved through French Formula Three before joining RAM for his Formula One debut at the 1984 Brazilian Grand Prix.

He stepped in at Ligier during 1986 and scored his first point with sixth in Mexico, then spent three seasons with Lola, collecting sixth places in Germany, Spain and Mexico in 1987 and in Spain in 1989. After another year at Ligier he returned in 1993 with Larrousse and took fifth at San Marino, the best result of his career. In 1994 he made one start for McLaren in Hungary and a last one for Larrousse in Belgium, finishing with 109 starts. He also raced sports cars for Peugeot.
