Olivier Gendebien, a four time Le Mans winner, raced occasionally in Formula One between 1956 and 1961 and finished second in France in 1960.

Born in Brussels, Olivier Gendebien worked in the Belgian Congo before returning to Europe and winning rallies. Ferrari signed him in 1956 for sports cars and Formula One, and he finished fifth on his World Championship debut at that year's Argentine Grand Prix.

His Formula One appearances were occasional, but in 1960, driving a Cooper, he finished third in Belgium and second at the French Grand Prix. His last start came at the 1961 United States Grand Prix, his 14th. His greatest success came in sports cars with Ferrari, including four wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and three each at Sebring and the Targa Florio. He died in 1998.
