Nick Heidfeld

German racing driver

Thirteen Podiums, No Victory

Nick Heidfeld raced in Formula One from 2000 to 2011 and reached the podium 13 times without ever winning a Grand Prix.

Born in Mönchengladbach, Nick Heidfeld won the German Formula Three title and the International F3000 championship in 1999 before Prost gave him his Formula One debut at the 2000 Australian Grand Prix. A move to Sauber in 2001 brought his first podium, third in Brazil.

With Williams in 2005 he took his only pole at the European Grand Prix and finished second there, after another second at Monaco. Back at the renamed BMW Sauber from 2006 to 2009 he added eight more podiums, including four second places in 2008. His last podium came with Renault in Malaysia in 2011, and he left the sport after the Hungarian Grand Prix that year with 183 starts and 13 podiums, the most of any driver without a win. He later raced in Formula E and at Le Mans.

0 world titles, 0 wins, 1 pole positions, 183 starts.
