Points for Prost in 1997

Nakano Shinji raced in Formula One for Prost in 1997 and Minardi in 1998, scoring points twice with sixth places.

Born in Osaka, Nakano Shinji made his Formula One debut for the new Prost team at the 1997 Australian Grand Prix. In that first season he finished sixth at the Canadian Grand Prix and again in Hungary, scoring two points.

When Prost changed engine partners for 1998 he lost the seat and moved to Minardi, where a year without points ended at his home race, the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, his 33rd start. He went on to race in CART from 2000 to 2002, with a best result of fourth in Toronto, and later at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
