Four straight titles with Red Bull

Max Verstappen arrived as the youngest driver in Formula 1 history and went on to win four consecutive championships with Red Bull Racing.

After a decorated karting career he spent a single season in European Formula 3 with Van Amersfoort, finishing third, and that was enough for the Red Bull Junior Team to place him at Toro Rosso. His debut at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix made him the youngest driver ever to start a Formula 1 race.

Four rounds into 2016 he was promoted to Red Bull Racing, and he won the Spanish Grand Prix on his first weekend with the team, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the championship. Two wins followed in each of 2017 and 2018, and he finished third in the standings in both 2019 and 2020.

The 2021 championship went down to the last lap of the last race, in Abu Dhabi, where he passed Lewis Hamilton to win the race and his first title, the first for a driver from the Netherlands. He then ran away with 2022, winning 15 times, and in 2023 he won 19 of 22 races and stood on the podium 21 times. A fourth consecutive title came in 2024 with nine wins, among them a wet São Paulo Grand Prix. In 2025 he won eight times and finished runner up, two points behind Lando Norris.

Through the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix his record stood at 248 starts, 71 wins, 48 pole positions and 134 podiums. The 2026 season, his first with Red Bull Ford power, had brought seven podiums by that point, and its championship is still being decided.
