Ferrari Podiums in the Early Championship

Luigi Villoresi raced in the World Championship from 1950 to 1956 and reached the podium eight times with Ferrari.

Born in Milan, Luigi Villoresi was already a Maserati works driver before the war. He entered the first World Championship season with Ferrari in 1950, beginning at the Monaco Grand Prix and scoring sixth in Belgium.

In 1951 he finished third in Belgium, France and Britain, and he won the Mille Miglia for Ferrari that year. Two more thirds followed in 1952, and in 1953 he took second places in Argentina and Belgium and third at Monza. Later seasons with Maserati and Lancia brought fifth places, and his last championship race was the 1956 Italian Grand Prix, after 33 starts and eight podiums. He died in 1997.
