Alfa Romeo Racer Turned Le Mans Winner

Antonio Giovinazzi raced in Formula One for Sauber and Alfa Romeo between 2017 and 2021, then won Le Mans with Ferrari.

Born in Martina Franca, Antonio Giovinazzi finished runner up in the European Formula 3 championship in 2015 and in GP2 in 2016. As a Ferrari reserve driver he made his Formula One debut for Sauber at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix, standing in for the first two races of the season.

After another year in reserve he raced full time for the team, now called Alfa Romeo, from 2019. His first points came in Austria that year, and his best result followed with fifth at the Brazilian Grand Prix. He stayed for three seasons, ending at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with 62 starts. Moving to endurance racing with Ferrari, he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 and the World Endurance Championship in 2025.
