Thailand's First Formula One Podium

Alexander Albon raced for Toro Rosso and Red Bull, became the first Thai driver on a Formula One podium and has driven for Williams since 2022.

Racing under the Thai flag, Alexander Albon finished runner up to Charles Leclerc in GP3 in 2016 and third in Formula 2 in 2018 before Toro Rosso gave him his Formula One debut at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix. Partway through that first season he was promoted to Red Bull Racing.

In 2020 he finished third at the Tuscan Grand Prix, the first podium for a Thai driver, and repeated the result in Bahrain later that year. After a season as a reserve driver he joined Williams in 2022 and has stayed there since, with fifth place in 2025 his best finish for the team. Through the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix he has made 142 starts with two podiums.
