One Race for Derrington Francis

Stirling Moss's former chief mechanic and an engine tuner revived an abandoned Italian ATS car for a single Grand Prix in 1964.

The Derrington Francis team was founded by Alf Francis, formerly Stirling Moss's chief mechanic, and the engine tuner Vic Derrington. After the Italian ATS operation closed in 1963, they acquired one of its Tipo 100 cars and raced it under their own names as the Derrington Francis ATS, with a spaceframe chassis, short wheelbase and square aluminum bodywork.

Mário de Araújo Cabral drove it at the 1964 Italian Grand Prix, qualified nineteenth and ran with Peter Revson and Maurice Trintignant before an ignition problem ended his race. More races were planned, but the only chassis was damaged in private testing, and the team never appeared again.
