Brian Henton Runs His Own Team

Driver Brian Henton set up his own small team for 1977 with a customer March, but it never made a World Championship grid.

The British Formula One Racing Team was created by Brian Henton in 1977. Henton had raced in Formula One and Formula Two and wanted a regular place on the Grand Prix grid, so he bought a March 761B with a Cosworth DFV engine to run in selected World Championship rounds and in the British Shellsport series.

Henton and the Belgian driver Bernard de Dryver entered four World Championship races between them during 1977, and the car failed to qualify on each occasion. With its money running out, the small team closed down without ever taking a Grand Prix start.
