The Spanish Team That Never Started

Bravo F1 entered the 1993 season from Barcelona with a Judd powered car, then withdrew before a single race.

Bravo F1 was a Spanish project based in Barcelona and directed by Jean François Mosnier, with Jaume Magrans i Perelló as chairman. It registered for the 1993 World Championship with a car called the Bravo S931, an improved version of the Andrea Moda design drawn by Nick Wirth and fitted with a Judd engine. Adrián Campos helped develop it, and several drivers were considered for the seat.

The team never reached a grid. After Mosnier's sudden death and a failed crash test, Bravo withdrew its entry before the opening race of the season. Campos returned to Formula One many years later as the man behind the project that became Hispania Racing.
