Clark Again, and Stewart Arrives

Jim Clark won six times and wrapped up the title by August, while a newcomer named Jackie Stewart finished third.

The 1965 championship opened on New Year's Day at the Prince George Circuit in South Africa, the first time a season had begun there, and Jim Clark won from pole, setting the agenda for the year before most calendars had been hung. Over ten rounds Clark and Lotus were the standard by which everyone else was measured, and the only real question was how soon the title would be settled.
