Limonada suíça

Creamy whole lime limeade

Whole limes blended in seconds with ice water and sugar, strained and swirled with condensed milk into a frothy, creamy, sweet and sour Brazilian limeade.

Limonada suíça

Despite its name, Swiss lemonade, nobody has found any Swiss connection, and it is not made with lemons either: Brazilians call limes limões. It is a juice bar and lunch counter favorite all over the country, made by blending whole limes, peel and all, then straining. The peel gives it a bright, perfumed flavor, and a little condensed milk turns it creamy.

It takes five minutes and must be made just before drinking, because the peel turns bitter if it sits. Make a pitcher at the start of the race and do not expect it to survive the first stint.
