Italian marketing executive who was Ferrari team principal from late 2014 until January 2019

Maurizio Arrivabene arrived at the head of Ferrari from the sponsor's side of the fence. Born in Brescia in 1957, he built a career in marketing and sales and joined Philip Morris International in 1997, which put him close to the Scuderia for years, and from 2010 he spoke for the sport's sponsors on the Formula One Commission.

Ferrari's new chairman, Sergio Marchionne, named him team principal on the 23rd of November 2014, citing his grasp of how the sport is governed. He led the team through four seasons before Mattia Binotto, the team's technical chief, replaced him in January 2019. Not many team principals have known the paddock from both the commercial and the competitive end.
