British executive who ran Williams day to day as deputy team principal from 2013 to 2020

Claire Williams studied politics at Newcastle University and began as a press officer at Silverstone before joining her father's team in communications in 2002. She took on investor relations as Williams floated its shares in Frankfurt in 2011, and in March 2013 she became deputy team principal, running the team day to day.

She was only the second woman to manage a Formula One team, after Monisha Kaltenborn at Sauber. She signed Felipe Massa to partner Valtteri Bottas and moved to Mercedes engines, and the team enjoyed something of a renaissance from 2014. With the team sold to Dorilton Capital in August 2020, she stepped down after that year's Italian Grand Prix, with an FW36 front wing given to her as a souvenir. Most people leave with a card.
