Willy Mairesse raced in Formula One between 1960 and 1965, mainly for Ferrari, and finished third at the 1960 Italian Grand Prix.

Born in Momignies, Willy Mairesse made his World Championship debut for Ferrari at his home Belgian Grand Prix in 1960. Later that year he finished third at the Italian Grand Prix, the only podium of his career.

He raced only a few times each season, for Ferrari and once in a Lotus, and finished fourth at the 1962 Italian Grand Prix. He was also a strong sports car driver, sharing second place at the 1961 24 Hours of Le Mans. His final Formula One entry came with BRM in 1965, leaving him with 12 starts. A crash at Le Mans in 1968 ended his racing career, and he died in 1969.
