From Formula 3000 Title to Monaco Podium

Stefano Modena raced in Formula One from 1987 to 1992, finishing third at Monaco in 1989 and second in Canada in 1991.

Born in Modena, Stefano Modena won the International Formula 3000 championship in his debut season in 1987, and Brabham gave him a single Formula One start at that year's Australian Grand Prix. A difficult season with EuroBrun followed in 1988, when he missed the grid six times.

Back at Brabham in 1989, he finished third at the Monaco Grand Prix. His best year came with Tyrrell in 1991, with fourth at the United States Grand Prix and second in Canada. A final season with Jordan in 1992 ended at the Australian Grand Prix, after 71 starts and two podiums. He then raced touring cars for Alfa Romeo until 1999.
