Gordini Points in the First Championship

Robert Manzon raced in the World Championship from 1950 to 1956, mostly for Gordini, and finished third twice.

Born in Marseille, Robert Manzon worked as a mechanic before starting to race after the Second World War. He drove a Gordini at the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix, his World Championship debut, and scored points with fourth at the French Grand Prix that year.

His strongest season came in 1952, when he finished third in Belgium, fourth in France and fifth in the Netherlands. In 1954 he drove a Ferrari and took third at the French Grand Prix. He returned to Gordini and raced until the 1956 Italian Grand Prix, his 28th start. When he died in 2015 he was the last surviving driver from the first World Championship season.
