Peter Arundell finished third at Monaco and Zandvoort in his first two Grands Prix for Lotus in 1964.

Born in Ilford, Peter Arundell turned professional after service in the Royal Air Force and raced Elva and Lotus cars. His early World Championship entries with Lotus in 1962 and 1963 did not lead to starts.

When he finally started a Grand Prix, at Monaco in 1964, he finished third, and he repeated the result at the Dutch Grand Prix before adding fourth in France. He returned to the Lotus team in 1966, scoring a point at the United States Grand Prix, and his last race was the 1966 Mexican Grand Prix, his 11th start. He retired from racing in 1969 and died in 2009.
