Le Mans Winner with Three Podiums

Mark Blundell raced in Formula One from 1991 to 1995 for Brabham, Ligier, Tyrrell and McLaren, finishing third three times.

Born in Barnet, Mark Blundell came through Formula Ford and Formula 3000 and drove sports cars for Nissan before Brabham gave him his Formula One debut at the 1991 United States Grand Prix. In 1992 he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Peugeot.

He returned to Grands Prix with Ligier in 1993, finishing third in South Africa and Germany, then added a third place at the 1994 Spanish Grand Prix for Tyrrell. A season with McLaren in 1995 brought fourth places in Italy and Australia, and the Australian Grand Prix was his last Formula One race, after 61 starts and three podiums. He then raced in IndyCar until 2000 and later worked as a television presenter.
