Williams Driver Turned Le Mans Winner

Kazuki Nakajima raced for Williams from 2007 to 2009, then won Le Mans three times in a row with Toyota.

Born in Okazaki, Kazuki Nakajima made his Formula One debut for Williams at the 2007 Brazilian Grand Prix, finishing tenth. He raced full time for the team in 2008 and scored points on his first outing of the season with sixth at the Australian Grand Prix, his best result.

A second full season in 2009 brought no points, and he left Formula One after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with 36 starts, all for Williams. He then built a strong career in Japan and in endurance racing, winning the Super Formula title in 2012 and 2014, the 2018 to 2019 World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 2018 to 2020 with Toyota.
