Brian Redman raced in Formula One only occasionally between 1967 and 1974, finishing third in Spain in 1968, while winning widely in sports cars.

Born in Colne, Brian Redman began racing in 1959 and first entered a World Championship race at the 1967 German Grand Prix, though he did not start. Driving a Cooper in 1968, he finished third at the Spanish Grand Prix from thirteenth on the grid, the only podium of his career.

His later Grand Prix outings were brief, with Surtees, McLaren, BRM and Shadow, and fifth places for McLaren at Monaco and in Germany in 1972. His last start came at the 1974 Monaco Grand Prix, his 12th. Elsewhere he was hugely successful, winning the Targa Florio in 1970, the 24 Hours of Daytona twice and three straight SCCA Formula 5000 titles from 1974 to 1976.
